Colonial hires from Macquarie

Former Macquarie Securities division director Andrew Cummins has been hired by CFSGAM.

Colonial First State Global Asset Management (CFSGAM) has appointed Andrew Cummins as its head of global projects and strategy, a newly created role.

Cummins joins CFSGAM from Macquarie Bank's securities unit, of which he was a division director.

"In this role he managed three major global initiatives comprising around 50 individual projects, including exchange-traded funds, capital management and futures processing," CFSGAM said.

In his new job, Cummins reports to CFSGAM chief executive Mark Lazberger and will lead the development and execution of all major business critical projects within the CFSGAM and First State Investments businesses.

"Andrew is an extremely experienced and talented professional with a very strong project management and operations background," Lazberger said.

"We are pleased to have been able to attract Andrew to our organisation where his experience and capabilities will make a significant contribution to our businesses."

Cummins starts in his new role on 28 June.
