First State Media Group (FSMG), the investment adviser to the First State Media Works Fund, has acquired the music publishing catalogue of United States singer and songwriter Sheryl Crow.

As a result of the acquisition, FSMG has added 153 of Crow's songs released between 1993 and 2008.

The deal will also give FSMG the publishing rights to Crow's next two albums.

"I am very excited about the plans for my music and look forward to a long and fruitful working arrangement," Crow said.

FSMG co-managing directors Geordie Manolas and Steve McMellon will work with Crow and her team to promote the use of her songs across a variety of media channels.

Revenues will be exploited through ramped-up on-the-ground royalty collections.

FSMG is a joint venture between Colonial First State Global Asset Management and an investment management team led by McMellon and Manolas.

The FSMG portfolio has around 30,000 songs, including hits "All I Wanna Do", "Everyday Is A Winding Road" and "Soak Up The Sun".
