Macquarie Financial Services Group has hired six new advisers and an insurance executive.

"A significant benefit in joining Macquarie was to strengthen my existing business relationships, as well as build new ones, by providing a better service and using the wealth of resources that Macquarie can provide," Andrew Crawford, who moved from Canberra to join the Sydney team as an insurance executive, said. Reputation was a strong incentive for Adelaide private client adviser Victoria Sobolewski to join Macquarie.

"I found that my clients were getting bored with plain vanilla broking and were looking for something more. Macquarie has helped me offer them investment solutions that could better service their portfolios," Sobolewski said.

Melbourne associate adviser Cameron Eldridge said he made the move because of Macquarie's platform, market presence and client commitment. Steve Baldas has been appointed as a private client adviser in Adelaide. Returning home to Australia after 12 years working in the United States, the 1992 Junior Wimbledon Doubles tennis champion decided to sign up with Macquarie. Three private client advisers have joined the team in Adelaide - Paul Kennedy, Bradley Dohrmann and Jennifer Vaughan.
