Financial planners David Hyde and Greg Moore have established a new Avenue Capital Management branch in Miller Street, North Sydney. The pair, who previously worked at the dealership’s Blue Street branch in North Sydney, offers a comprehensive financial planning service.

Moore has 11 years’ experience and about 170 clients. Hyde has worked in the industry for nine years and deals with 70 clients. Both deal with a large number of retirees. “[North Sydney] gives us strong potential for growth, with its fast-expanding ’empty-nester’ population, with high quality residential buildings being developed in the area and more retirees choosing to move to the North Sydney area because of its convenience to public transport and other retail and recreational facilities,” Moore said.

They are looking for a third experienced financial planner and three staff members to join the team. Avenue Capital Management executive director Simon Clifford said: “It is part of our business approach to offer our advisers opportunities to develop their own businesses, with access to the Avenue  expertise, knowledge base and support services.” The privately-owned dealergroup was established in 2001 and has more than $1.3 billion in funds under advice and an authorised representative base of 40.

AMP Capital Investors has appointed Steve Mazzarelli as business development manager for Victoria. Mazzarelli was formerly CommSec Victorian business development manager for the Colonial geared investments team. He was previously a financial adviser with Positive Financial Solutions and Associated Planners Financial Services. Mazzarelli will educate Victorian dealer groups and independent advisers on the AMP Capital suite of investment products and services.

Also joining the Melbourne office are Stephen Williams as state manager for Victoria and Tasmania and Melissa Morris as a business development associate. Williams said: “Steve’s in depth understanding of what financial planners are looking for in terms of products, support and services is a very valuable asset and we are very pleased to have him as part of our team.”
