CommInsure has made a string of executive appointments, recently hiring a wholesale underwriting manager and a retail advice contact centre leader.

Huw Parry has been appointed as an executive manager for CommInsure's wholesale underwriting business, following an extensive market search to fill the position.

Formerly a group risk underwriting manager at ING for the past five years, Parry will be joining CommInsure's wholesale underwriting team on 15 November.

Parry brings to his new role 14 years' experience in the insurance industry. He began his career in the UK, before moving to New Zealand in 2000 where he held various underwriting and business development roles for AIA, up until 2006 when he moved to Australia to take up a management role at ING.

CommInsure has also hired Nikki Bower as an executive manager for its retail advice contact centre.

Bower has more than 20 years' experience in the financial services industry, previously holding contact centre senior management roles at St George Bank where she led up to 250 staff who conversed with up to 11,000 customers on a daily basis.

She also worked at CitiBank and St George Building Society during the 1990s.

In her new role Bower will head up CommInsure's contact centres, which provide support for advisers, particularly new advisers, to bring them up to speed on policies and processes.

The retail advice contact centre also fields calls from customers, answering basic questions that are typically in response to customer statements that have been received.
