Superannuation fund Plum Financial Services (Plum) has announced the appointment of Lara Bourguignon as its new managing director.

Commencing 3 December 2012, Ms Bourguignon will be responsible for leading and evolving Plum, which has more than $14 billion in funds under management.

Ms Bourguignon is currently working in a senior strategy role for NAB Wealth and was previously Head of Investment Control, where she worked closely with the corporate super business.

She has also held a variety of other key roles within Lend Lease, Merrill Lynch, MLC and the wider National Australia Bank Group during her career in financial services.

According to Ms Bourguignon, there is a huge opportunity for Plum to deepen its relationship with members and grow the business.

"[The] strong focus on member services means Plum's members are among the most engaged in the industry. I'm looking forward to working with the team to expand our capabilities and take advantage of the opportunity that abounds."
