New SuperChoice CIO announced

Superannuation e-commerce and clearinghouse provider SuperChoice has announced the appointment of Ian Gibson to chief information officer.

Mr Gibson will now be responsible for the ongoing development of SuperChoice's cloud-based software, leveraging his previous experience as a CIO and technology and strategy consultant.

Speaking of the appointment, SuperChoice CEO Peter Philip said the business was committed to meeting the online needs of the superannuation community in Australia and progressively in new jurisdictions, such as the UK, where SuperChoice is working with its first client, AEGON Insurance

"Ian brings to this position a unique skill set that will enable him to ensure that the more than 60,000 employers and 2 million active Australian superannuation contributors can electronically remit annually their 20 million contributions with a value of $10 billion to their nominated superannuation funds.

"Ian will be integral as we evolve our service in line with the government's SuperStream e-Commerce and efficiency objectives."

Mr Gibson is a 30-year veteran of the technology industry. Prior to joining SuperChoice, Mr Gibson worked in senior roles at Adaptra, CitiStreet, NAB, Telstra and as a partner at Accenture. He graduated from Melbourne University and received a Bachelor of Science (Computer Science & Mathematics). He also holds a Masters of Business Administration from Melbourne Business School.
