Ex-Sunstone Partners MD joins as COO

Fidelity Worldwide Investment (Fidelity) has appointed ex-Sunstone Partners managing director as its chief operating officer of the Australian business as part of its next growth phase.

Eric Wang will oversee Fidelity's strategy, client services and operations, product development, corporate services and systems business functions.

"Fidelity has reached an important stage in its development in Australia and we need to ensure we are well resourced for our next stage of growth - both in new markets and with new products," Fidelity managing director Gerard Doherty said.

"A person with Eric's operational experience and strategic skills will ensure we are well placed to reach our potential."

Prior to his role at Sunstone Partners, Mr Wang spent six years at Perpetual as head of group strategy and group chief operating officer. In these roles, he managed projects spanning strategy, product development, operations, technology and logistics.

Eric joined Perpetual from Bain and Company, where he worked as a management consultant for four years in the wealth management arena, advising a range of leading Australian and international businesses.

"Fidelity has had outstanding growth over several years in Australia and has ambitious plans to further develop the business over the coming years. I look forward to joining this outstanding team and contributing to the growth of this business," Mr Wang said.
