NRMA Insurance will begin offering life insurance products to clients following an alliance agreement with life insurance provider TAL.
As part of the agreement, TAL will provide and manage life insurance policies on behalf of NRMA Insurance.
NRMA Insurance chief executive officer Andy Cornish said the alliance will allow the company to offer insurance products to its customers whilst also continuing to focus on existing products.
"This alliance will allow us to continue to grow our multi-product, multi-channel strategy," Cornish said.
He explained that the move will help to tackle underinsurance problems in Australia.
"Around 95 per cent of people not holding adequate life insurance," he said.
"Our alliance with TAL allows us to address this by offering easy to understand and affordable life insurance, as well as greater access as customers can purchase life insurance through all of our existing sales channels."
TAL Direct chief executive John Hoyle said the alliance is "a significant partnership".
"The products and services we provide for NRMA Insurance will be to the same high standard TAL applies to its own business," he said.
