Arena Investment Management (Arena) has appointed David Ross as its chairman.
The appointment completes the Arena board restructure, announced by Morgan Stanley Real Estate Investing when it acquired the business in December 2011.
"We have undertaken a very careful selection process for this appointment. It was important for the business to find a chairperson who not only understood the property investment market, but also understood the mind set of our broad investor base," Arena joint managing director James Goodwin said.
Ross joins Arena from prior positions with Lend Lease Corporation, including global and US chief executive officer of Real Estate Investments (based in the United States).
He also held the role as chief executive officer Asia Pacific and chief executive officer of General Property Trust.
The Arena board now comprises a majority of independent directors: chairman and non-executive director David Ross; joint managing director and executive director James Goodwin; joint managing director and executive director Bryce Mitchelson; non-executive director Dennis Wildenburg and non-executive director Simon Parsons.
