The Trust Company is continuing with its expansion plans into Asia to take advantage of strong demand.

The Trust Company planned to continue its expansion into Asia with a focus on Singapore and Hong Kong, chief executive John Atkin said yesterday.

The company expects strong demand for trustee services to continue across Asia, with Atkin saying Trust had already increased staff numbers in its Singapore office.

As a result, he said the company was not looking at expanding through acquisition, but instead by organic growth.

"We've won the next four bond issues in Singapore anyway," he told InvestorDaily.

"The opportunity is for us to grow organically in Singapore now that we've got a corporate and a personal licence and we've got the market presence, [which] is pretty strong."

Trust plans to expand and consolidate its presence in Singapore over the next five years, with plans to seek expansion opportunities in Hong Kong.

"We haven't gone there yet and we won't rush there, [but Hong Kong] would be the next logical place for us to start looking," Atkin said.

"We're already got many clients out of Hong Kong."

Trust first established its office in Singapore in 2006 to offer corporate services products to the Asian market.
