AMP Capital is planning to continue growing its infrastructure team following the appointment of David Rees.

AMP Capital has appointed a new co-head of asset management to its European infrastructure team as part of its plan to meet client demand.

In his new role, David Rees will be based in London and have joint responsibility with Rob Verrion for AMP Capital's European infrastructure assets.

"The business has grown and continues to grow to meet our clients' needs," AMP Capital head of unlisted investment specialists Warwick Mancini told InvestorDaily.

"It is growing to meet increasing demand that we're seeing on a global basis for infrastructure products."

Prior to joining AMP Capital, Rees held a number of senior finance roles at National Grid, including director of finance and regulation at Transco.

He was also chairman of trustees and a member of the investment committee of National Grid's United Kingdom Pension Scheme.
