Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA) has launched Vantage+, offering investors exposure to the S&P/ASX 200 Index over the medium term.

The investment option offers investors up to five times more exposure than a direct share investment in return for a one-off upfront payment with a choice of two strategies.

Strategy one offers investors a three-year investment term and 15 per cent to 17 per cent of the notional value of the investment upfront, with growth capped at 150 per cent of the initial reference level of the S&P/ASX 200 Index.

Strategy two offers investors a five-year investment term and 20 per cent to 22 per cent of the notional value of the investment upfront, with unlimited growth potential.

"Vantage+ was developed to give investors leveraged exposure to the equity-market with the benefit of limiting the downside risks associated with equity-related investments," CBA head of business development of structured investments Moghseen Jadwat said.

"In a period of high market volatility, such as the one we are currently experiencing, investors can take a leveraged position to the market by committing a small amount of their cash to Vantage+ and leave the majority in a secure investment, such as a term deposit."
