Fidelity fills new senior director position

Fidelity Worldwide Investment has appointed Michael Bargholz to the newly-created role of senior investment director for Australia.

Bargholz's new role will see him working with Fidelity's worldwide equity and fixed income investment teams and aligning Fidelity's capabilities with client demand. He has more than 25 years' experience in the industry and joins Fidelity from a role at AllianceBernstein, where he was chief executive and managing director of Australia and New Zealand business for the past 11 years. Bargholz previously spent more than 11 years at AXA as chief economist, investment strategist and managing director of funds management. He is a CFA charter holder, a past chair of the Advisory Board of the Sydney CFA society and was deputy chair of the Financial Services Council 2010 and 2011.
