Appointment comes as company eyes expansion

Tyndall AM has capped off its senior management team with the appointment of Linda Garry as senior manager for marketing and communications.

The appointment marks the culmination of Tyndall's latest expansion, with the creation of a new sales and marketing division to take further advantage of emerging opportunities.

"The enhanced level of support activities and the resources now in place mean Tyndall has positioned itself to offer its funds management capabilities more widely in 2013," Tyndall head of sales and marketing Matt Russell said.

"We are now well-placed to provide improved service to the institutional and retail markets, with recognised capabilities in four asset classes: Australian equities, international equities, fixed income and alternative assets."

The investment management company had been looking to expand in both domestic and Asian markets since it was purchased by Nikko Asset Management in 2011.

Earlier this year, Tyndall acquired Causeway Asset Management, after Causeway co-founder Mike Davis became Tyndall's managing director in April.

In October, Tyndall boosted its product development team with the appointments of Shirley Bowles as senior manager for product strategy and development, and Steven Birkett as senior product manager.

"An expert management team, together with a supportive parent in Nikko AM, puts us in a very strong position to continue our growth in both domestic and Asian markets," Russell said.

"Being able to effectively communicate the benefits of Tyndall's investment approaches is a critical part of our business strategy, making this appointment significant in rounding off our plans for 2013."

Garry's new role at Tyndall will focused on strategic marketing advice as the company continues its expansion.

She has more than 12 years' marketing and brand experience in the financial services industry including a position at Credit Suisse Asset Management as head of marketing.
