NAB has reshuffled its top talent with former planner Adrian Hondros taking on the private banking arm.

National Australia Bank (NAB) has reshuffled the senior managers in its private bank, financial planning and business banking arms.

Adrian Hondros has taken over NAB Private Banking following his five-year tenure as boss of in-house advice channel, NAB Financial Planning.

He will report to regional general manager of Corporate Banking Joseph Healy.

Hondros replaces former private bank chief Carl Harman, who has been made general manager of NAB Business for Victoria and Tasmania.

Harman replaces Geoff Greer, who has moved into a position as executive general manager within NAB Business covering all states and territories.

A replacement for Hondros will be found internally and announced within two to three weeks, a NAB spokesperson said.

Hondros was formerly a managing director of MLC-owned dealer group Godfrey Pembroke Financial Consultants.

"As our business grows, it is important that we make the right senior appointments and that our top talent are given new development opportunities," Business and Private Banking Australia general manager George Frazis said.

In a separate move NAB's wealth management division MLC recently laid off five senior managers as part of an extensive internal review. It also plans to hire three more people as part of that review.

Last week the bank announced a half year to March 2007 net profit of $2.14 billion, a 21.2 per cent increase on the previous corresponding period.
