Prime Minister John Howard has recognised ANZ's contribution to Australian communities at an award ceremony this week.

The award was given for Impact in the Community, part of the 2006 Prime Minister's Awards for Excellence in Community Business Partnerships, and recognised ANZ's contribution to financial literacy and inclusion partnerships and programs including:

. Saver Plus - which helps families on low incomes to set and achieve a savings goal, and establish a long-term saving habit.
. MoneyMinded - which helps educate people on money management, and
. MoneyBusiness - a money management education program tailored for indigenous communities.

Other ANZ projects recognised by the award were its community partnerships including Habitat for Humanity, Seeds of Renewal, The Long Walk and Comic Relief, and staff programs ANZ Volunteers and Community Giving.

In presenting the award, Howard said the special award recognised ANZ for its significant community involvement covering a suite of programs and projects with one or more partners.
