Boutique equities manager hires ex-RBS director

Wingate Asset Management has hired a senior analyst to help further its expansion plans.

International equities manager Wingate Asset Management has expanded its investment team of four with the appointment of Alastair MacLeod as senior investment analyst.

MacLeod joins Wingate from Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) in New York, where his most recent role was as the director of European equity institutional sales.

He previously held the job of global media analyst for RBS.

Prior to this, he was an analyst with Cazenove in Sydney and has also worked with Banque Paribas and PricewaterhouseCoopers, both in London.

Wingate chief investment officer Chad Padowitz said the business had reached a stage in its lifecycle where additional research resources were necessary to continue its growth.

"Alastair brings a wide range of experience to the business and we are very pleased to have attracted someone of his calibre," Padowitz said.
