Aon creates new role for its adviser network.

Aon has hired Jayson Walker for the newly-created job of general manager of advice.

Walker has led Aon's adviser network as regional manager for the last two years.

In the job, Walker will oversee the advice for Aon Wealth Management and Aon Financial Planning and Protection.

Managing director of both Aon companies, Pierre Kraft, said the new role was created to provide clarity and focus in advice distribution.

Walker's new responsibilities include overseeing all aspects of advice delivery for Aon's network of more than 200 advisers.

Walker will be tasked with implementing Aon's advice channel strategy with a focus on generating growth and further building and strengthening the Aon team.

"We are looking at the growth of aligning businesses who wish to benefit from our culture and value, growth through attraction from the external market, organic growth with our existing aligned businesses through our lead generation initiatives and growth through leveraging other revenue levers that we've yet to tap," Walker said.

Walker also said this strategy will be implemented through conducting skills-gap analysis across the network to determine what training and educational requirements will be needed.

"The scope of my role is to manage the advice provisions and distribution of advice products and solutions across our networks," Walker said.
