Argo Investments appoints director

Listed investment company Argo Investments has appointed former UBS Wealth management chief executive for Australia Elizabeth Lewin as a non-executive director.

In a statement, Argo Investments announced that Ms Lewin would be joining the listed investment company's board from 1 July 2018.

She brings more than 25 years’ experience in global financial services sectors, wealth management, investment banking and superannuation in director and senior executive roles, according to the statement.

Ms Lewin was based in London as managing director of UBS Investment Bank from 1992 to 1999, before moving into the position of head of UK in the company.

She was then relocated to Sydney from 2004 to take up the UBS Wealth Management Australia chief executive role, and from 2009 stayed with the company in a senior adviser position.

According to the statement, Ms Lewin retired in 2012 and pursued a board career and serves on the boards of a number of not-for-profit organisations.

Currently, she is also a non-executive director at Colonial First State, Colonial Mutual Superannuation, and Avanteos Investments. She also the chairs the investment committees of each company.
