Perpetual has named Janus Henderson head of pan-Asia Rob Adams as its new chief executive, replacing the outgoing Geoff Lloyd.

Rob Adams has been announced as the new chief executive of Perpetual, joining from Janus Henderson where he is currently head of pan-Asia.

His fixed remuneration will be $1,302,630, while his 'at risk' remuneration will include a variable cash incentive of $500,000 for the year ending 30 June 2019.

Mr Adams' at-risk remuneration will also include variable incentive equity with a face value of $888,943, with the same amount also subject to an additional hurdle.

He will also receive a sign-on equity incentive with a face value of $900,000, half of which will vest on his second anniversary and the remaining half on his four-year anniversary.

Mr Adams joined Henderson in 2012 to build its Australian and Asia business, and then led the company through its merger with Janus.

Before his time at Henderson, Mr Adams was the chief executive of Challenger Funds Management from 2005 to 2011.

A Janus Henderson spokesperson said of Mr Adams' departure: "As Janus Henderson enters its next phase of development in Pan Asia, Rob Adams has decided the time is right to make a new career move and we wish him all the best."
