Suncorp Group has appointed former MediBank Private executive general manager Sarah Harland as its new chief information officer.
Ms Harland, who will take charge of cloud technology and infrastructure at Suncorp, will commence her new role on 1 September 2016.
Suncorp managing director and chief executive Michael Cameron said Ms Harland will help take the company’s digital capability “to the next level”.
“I am confident her leadership and track record over the past 16 years in similar roles will build on the momentum we already have,” he said.
Ms Harland has held senior technology roles within the Australian finance sector since 2011, and has previously worked with ANZ, Bloomberg, and Standard and Poor’s.
Ms Harland’s role with Suncorp will also see her take charge of the Chief Data Office, digital enablement and protective services.
Clayton Herbert, Suncorp Group’s chief transformation officer, will remain as caretaker of the role until September. He has acted in this capacity since May.
