Morningstar has appointed a former JP Morgan executive as the director of equity research for Australian and New Zealand.
Carolyn Holmes has been named by Morningstar as the firm’s director of equity research, Australia and New Zealand.
Morningstar global head of equity research Michael Holt said: “Carolyn brings significant experience in the Australasian financial services industry, broad and deep knowledge of the region's share markets and industries, and strong skills in analysing stocks and managing analyst teams.
“Her expertise will enhance our equity research offerings to local investors to help them make better investing decisions to reach their financial goals.”
Ms Holmes will replace Joel Bloomer in the position, who will take on a new role as head of discretionary equity strategies.
“Joel's new role signals our commitment to investing in our portfolio management capabilities and providing leadership in both equity research and investment solutions for our clients,” Mr Holt said.
Ms Holmes most recently served as the executive director and senior equity analyst at JP Morgan in Sydney. She has also held positions with ABN AMRO New Zealand and Citigroup.
