Allspring Global Investments has announced the appointment of Jeremy Gordon as head of sales for Australia and New Zealand, in a move expanding the firm’s local presence.

The role will see Gordon based at the global asset management company’s new Sydney office, the first in Australia.

Allspring is headquartered in North Carolina, with over 20 offices across the globe, and has over US$611 billion ($934 billion) in assets under management.

The appointment follows Allspring’s recent partnership with Bennelong Funds Management, through which the Allspring Global Income Fund was launched for Australian investors via a local Australian unit trust, which provides daily liquidity and exposure across fixed income asset classes.

In the new role, Gordon’s responsibilities will include leading sales and client service initiatives as well as bolstering relationships with key institutional stakeholders across the region. He will report to Andy Sowerby who heads the International Client Group at Allspring.

Commenting on the appointment, Sowerby said the move reflects the firm’s “continued investment” in building the team to support clients in Asia-Pacific and beyond.

“His deep asset management industry knowledge and strategic approach will be key as we broaden our reach and deliver tailored solutions that meet the evolving needs of investors based in Australia and New Zealand,” he said.

The firm further highlighted Gordon’s expertise in developing strategic long-term client relationships.

Gordon brings more than 25 years of experience in the funds management industry, having spent over 17 years at Challenger Investment Management, where he led institutional sales and client service for Challenger Life, and Fidante affiliate Ardea Investment Management.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in business with a marketing emphasis from UTS Sydney and a graduate diploma in applied finance and investment from the Securities Institute of Australia.

Gordon said he is “delighted” to be joining Allspring at a pivotal moment in its growth journey.

“I look forward to bringing my experience to contribute to the company’s ongoing success and to supporting clients in achieving their investment objectives.”
