In the new role, Boyte will report to Adam Bowe, executive vice president and head of Australia portfolio management. She will collaborate closely with the Sydney team on client portfolios and PIMCO’s Australian managed funds.
The appointment further strengthens the team in anticipation of Rob Mead’s scheduled retirement at the end of the year after serving at the fund manager for over two decades.
Previously, Boyte spent over 11 years at Macquarie Asset Management in the fixed income team, where she co-led Australian core, enhanced and true index fixed income strategies.
She joins from Aware Super, where she was a portfolio manager in the macro strategies team with a focus on global macro and developed market rates.
Boyte holds a bachelor of business (finance) and a bachelor of mathematics from the Queensland University of Technology, where she was awarded a university medal. She is also a CFA charterholder.
