Slava Platkov has been appointed senior investment director of Dimensional’s Australian Investment Solutions Group. The role will involve connecting the firm’s global investment resources and regional expertise with the development of investment solutions.
Dimensional Australia’s CEO, Bhanu Singh, commented on the appointment, noting the firm’s extensive background in Australia in providing a systematic investment approach through financial intermediaries.
“Slava’s appointment deepens our commitment to how we support investment professionals in accessing our investment expertise on behalf of their clients,” Singh said.
Platkov previously joined the firm in 2012 and, prior to his appointment, served as a senior portfolio manager for Dimensional. He has experience across multi-manager investing, including manager research and portfolio construction.
Platkov earned a master’s degree in applied finance from Macquarie University and also holds a bachelor of commerce from the University of NSW, where his majors were finance and actuarial studies.
Dimensional translates academic research into practical investment solutions, with its Investment Solutions Group combining research, portfolio management and client engagement expertise to deliver high-quality investment communications and client-focused solutions.
Founded in the US in 1981 with a head office in Austin, Texas, the firm has been operating in Australia since 1994. Dimensional oversees over AU$1.3 trillion in investments worldwide, with AU$69.2 billion allocated to clients in Australia and New Zealand.
Its clients include financial intermediaries such as advisers, brokers and superannuation funds.
