Satchwell has been appointed Barclay’s head of capital markets financing, Asia Pacific and is set to commence with his new role overseas after being the Australia Country CEO and head of investment banking, Australia.
Barclays confirmed that Duncan Connellan will succeed Satchwell’s roles, being appointed the new head of investment banking, Australia, while David Henderson has been appointed the role of CEO of BBPLC Australia.
Outside of Australia, Barclays has named Ee-Ching Tay as the new head of M&A, Asia Pacific. Tay will be taking on this role simultaneously with her current position as head of investment banking, Southeast Asia.
Meanwhile, Arun Saigal and Pramod Kumar have been appointed additional roles for Barclay’s operations in India. Saigal, appointed as head of investment banking, India, in addition to his role as head of financing and M&A in India, and will assist with bolstering the bank’s presence in this growth market.
Kumar is set to continue as the chief executive of BBPLC India, while also assuming additional responsibilities as vice chairman, investment banking, Asia Pacific (subject to regulatory approval). Barclays stated Kumar will bring “strategic oversight and leadership to the franchise in the region”.
These leadership changes follow the appointment of Avinash Thakur as head of investment banking, Asia Pacific.
Commenting on the leadership shake-up, Avinash said the appointments spotlight “the strength and expertise of our leadership team and reinforce our commitment to delivering value to clients across the region”.
“Asia Pacific is crucial to our global growth plan, and this team will drive the next phase of our ambition with clarity, deeper client relationships, and stronger collaboration across markets through focussed execution,” he added.
Barclays confirmed that Sushir Lohia (head of risk solutions group, Asia Pacific), Yuzu Otsuka (head of investment banking, Japan) and Raymond Yu (head of investment banking, Greater China) will continue in their current roles.
