The financial advice software provider has hired a new chief technology officer.

Midwinter has announced the appointment of Fraser Hamilton as its new chief technology officer.

Mr Hamilton joins Midwinter from Integrity Life, where he worked on creating a technology ecosystem to make life insurance more accessible as the company’s head of development.

He has more than 15 years of experience in financial services technology development, including solution architecture roles at AMP and Wesfarmers Insurance.

“Fraser brings a wealth of technology knowledge and experience to Midwinter,” said Midwinter CCO Steve Davison.

“This extensive experience, combined with his innovative thinking, will help Midwinter stay at the forefront of advice technology so we can help our customers harness the power of technology in their business.

The company said that Mr Hamilton’s appointment would allow co-founder and head of technology Andrew McClelland to step back from day-to-day activities and focus on strategic initiatives.

“I am excited to join the Midwinter team to build on the great work they have already done and help take our advice solutions to the next level,” said Mr Hamilton.

“Technology advances way quicker than the financial services industry can. My role will be to look for opportunities to harness new technologies in a way that helps advisers better engage their clients and reduces their cost to serve, helping them achieve the outcomes they want in their business.”

Midwinter last month also announced the appointment of Andrew Zietara as its new head of product.
