Crescent Group has appointed a new group executive for its Sydney-based team.

Brendan White will take on the role, moving from the Bank of Queensland where he worked as group executive and led a team of 600 banking and financial professionals for seven years.

Prior to working at BOQ, Mr White worked at Commonwealth Bank for almost 10 years in a number of different roles, including general manager global head of financial markets sales and executive general manager for regional commercial and agribusiness banking.

“I am delighted to have found such an accomplished and experienced leader as Brendan to take the operational helm of the Crescent Group at this pivotal stage in its history,” founder Professor Talal Yassine OAM said.

“Brendan has spent the majority of his career building businesses and leading teams to deliver growth and strong member and client advocacy, both internationally and domestically.”

Mr White will work across Crescent Groups two “profit for purpose” businesses – Crescent Wealth and Crescent Finance – and its three not for profit organisations – Crescent Institute, Crescent Foundation and Crescent Think Tank.

“Talal and the Crescent Group have significant growth ambitions and I look forward to contributing to the important business initiatives designed to support the financial health and wellbeing of Islamic communities all across Australia,” Mr White said.
