The Financial Services Council (FSC) has appointed a new board member from the executive ranks of MLC Wealth.

MLC Wealth acting managing director Andrew Morgan will join the FSC board as a director. Mr Morgan is an “experienced financial services executive with significant capability across a range of disciplines” and brings more than 30 years’ of industry experience to the role.

“Andrew has significant experience across a range of financial areas including wealth management, retail banking, insurance and property, all relevant areas for our industry,” said FSC chairman David Bryant, adding that his “strategic thinking” and “outstanding leadership” would be a welcome addition to the board.

Mr Morgan joined MLC Wealth in 2019 as chief corporate services officer before becoming acting managing director in November of last year following the sudden departure of Geoff Lloyd. He has held a number of roles across the financial services sector, including as CFO for wealth management at CBA, general manager for trust and fund services at Perpetual, and general manager for business services at MLC Corporate in the early 2000s. He holds a bachelor of commerce in accounting/law from the University of Western Sydney.
