First Sentier has announced the appointment of a new non-executive director to its board.
Hong Kong-based Susie Rippingall will join the board of First Sentier as a non-executive director, bringing the total number of independent directors to three, alongside Michelle Tredenick and Richard Wastcoat.
“We are pleased that Susie Rippingall will be joining as non-executive director of First Sentier Investors Holdings,” said chairman Sunao Yokokawa. “Her extensive experience as both a portfolio manager and independent director [makes] her ideally suited to the role.
“We know she will add significant value to the [board] with her strong understanding of corporate governance best practice and unique insight into the Asian investment management sector, which is a core strategic market for us.”
Ms Rippingall currently sits on several boards in the asset management sector, including the Aberdeen New Dawn Investment Trust, NTAsian Discovery Fund, and NTAsian Emerging Leaders Fund. She is an associate member at the UK Society of Investment Professionals, and has been a senior portfolio manager at First State Investments in Hong Kong and First State Investment Management in the UK.
