Yarra Capital has appointed the former CEO of Colonial First State Global Asset Management to its board.

Mark Lazberger will step into the role of non-executive director. Mr Lazberger held the role of CEO of Colonial First State Global Asset Management and FSI (now First Sentier Investors) for 10 years until December 2018 prior to its acquisition by Japanese bank MUFG in 2019.

“There are few executives in this country with Mark Lazberger’s experience,” said Mark Burgess, chairman of Yarra Capital. “We are delighted that he has agreed to join Yarra’s [board], and look forward to working with him.”

Mr Lazberger also worked at State Street for 17 years in a range of senior positions through Australia, Japan, Hong Kong and the UK. Prior to his resignation from State Street in 2008, he led State Street Global Advisor’s international business in all markets (ex US).
