Wealth bosses join FSC board

The Financial Services Council has appointed a number of top dogs in the wealth management industry from AMP, Commonwealth Bank’s NewCo and Challenger, as BT chief executive Brad Cooper exits from his role as FSC deputy chairman.

David Bryant, chief executive and chief investment officer for Australian Unity Group will be replacing Mr Cooper who is stepping down after nine years on the board.

Meanwhile, the FSC has welcomed newcomers Alex Wade, CEO of AMP’s Australian Wealth Management, Andrew Tobin, chief financial officer of Challenger and Jason Yetton, chief executive.

MLC Wealth chief executive and FSC chairman Geoff Lloyd said during Mr Cooper’s tenure, he provided expert guidance and support, particularly during challenging periods for the industry.

Mr Tobin of Challenger has worked in the banking, insurance and wealth management industries in Australia and Asia for more than 25 years.

Mr Wade of AMP has experience in banking and wealth management both in Australia and overseas, while Mr Yetton of NewCo has a background across banking, funds and wealth management.
