A former NAB head has been appointed as the head of Asia-Pacific for a global clearing house.

Kate Birchall will be responsible for clearing house LCH’s business in Asia-Pacific, including the CCP’s existing OTC derivatives clearing operations in Sydney and Tokyo, according to a statement.

She joins LCH from NAB, where she was most recently head of portfolio optimisation and collateral. Prior to that, she was a director at KPMG and has also held various roles at Lloyds, CIBC and ANZ.

LCH chief executive Martin Pluves said he’s pleased to welcome Ms Birchall to the LCH team.
