Yvonne Chu, former senior technical services manager at Colonial First State, will take on the role after over a decade at CFS.
In her former role, Ms Chu was part of a team of analysts who provided technical support to financial advisers and she will bring this ability to Australian Unity.
Australian Unity general manager of licensee services John Carnevale said Ms Chu brought years of experience to the role at a time when the industry was facing increased complexity.
