Fixed income manager Western Asset Management has announced Jonathan Baird will join the firm in the newly created role of investment specialist and client executive.

Mr Baird joins the company from UBS Asset Management, where he was an investment specialist in the company’s Australian fixed income team, prior to which he worked at Zenith Investment Partners.

In his new role, Mr Baird will be responsible for managing client interests across the company’s fund range, looking at both Australian and global strategies.

“We have created this role in response to the increased level of interests for our bond funds,” said Western Asset Australia head Anthony Kirkham.
