Mercer has appointed a new product and innovation leader, responsible for bringing together innovation, product development and product management capabilities.
Guy Thorburn, formerly retirement business leader at Mercer, has been named for the newly created role of product and innovation leader.
Mercer managing director and Pacific market leader, Ben Walsh, said Mr Thorburn is well suited to the role, having previously led product teams and consulted on product design and implementation.
“Guy and his team will help achieve even better outcomes through a more holistic and coordinated approach to the way we develop and manage products across the enterprise,” Mr Walsh said.
Graeme Mather, who currently leads the investments consulting team, will replace Mr Thorburn as Mercer’s retirement business leader.
“Graeme’s intimate knowledge of the retail retirement market, coupled with his extensive career in investment consulting, will result in enhanced outcomes for our clients, particularly given the financial challenges posed by Australia’s rapidly ageing population and increasing life expectancies,” Mr Walsh said.
