JP Morgan appoints account manager

Global firm JP Morgan Asset Management has appointed a key account manager, southern region.

Joseph Tobias has been appointed to the newly created role, JP Morgan Asset Management said.

Mr Tobias will cover Victoria, Tasmania, South Australia and Western Australia.

JP Morgan Asset Management's head of Australia funds, David Hallifax, said: “Joe is joining our business at a very important and exciting time, as we continue to execute on our growth strategy.

“He has a deep understanding of financial planning and funds management, and is extremely well regarded among advisers, so I’m delighted to have someone of Joe’s calibre joining our already highly experienced team.

“This appointment illustrates our commitment to building a distribution team to better service the [needs] of financial advisers,” he said.

According to the firm, Mr Tobias’ appointment is part of an Australian expansion strategy.

Mr Tobias has also held positions with Zurich Investments, Perpetual Investment Management, Commonwealth Bank of Australia and National Australia Bank.
