REST nabs former bank executive

Industry super fund REST has appointed a former NAB executive as its new chief operating officer to replace recently-departed Jo Townsend.

A statement by REST revealed that Andrew Howard will be replacing Ms Townsend, who has recently joined Funds SA as its new chief executive.

Before joining REST, Mr Howard held a number of general management positions with NAB, including his most recent role as general manager of distribution and client management for NAB Asset Management.

Mr Howard also held positions as general manager of group and direct insurance with MLC Insurance and general manager of people and culture with NAB Wealth.

“Prior to joining NAB in 2002, [Mr Howard] worked with Plum Financial Services as director, integration and manager, product and strategy,” the REST statement said.

"He also spent four years with Accenture as a management consultant," it said.

Mr Howard will commence in his new role on 14 April 2015.
