Australian ETF issuer BetaShares has appointed former CitiCorp technical sales manager Debbie Bennett to the role of chief operating officer.

Ms Bennett has also held senior management positions at RBC Investor Services and J.P. Morgan.

BetaShares has also hired two new business development associates who will be responsible for supporting the company’s distribution activities through institutional and intermediary channels.

“Our new appointments further strengthen our team and support our growing product offerings,” BetaShares managing director Alex Vynokur said.

“Last year was a strong year for BetaShares and for the ETF market as a whole, with the industry experiencing 50 per cent growth in funds under management, and with our funds under management increasing over 100 per cent.”

Mr Vynokur also said BetaShares is “on track” to reach $2 billion in funds under management in the first quarter of 2015.

“We launched three new funds last year, each of which is designed to give investors new exposures that were not previously available on the Australian market.

“And [we] expect to continue to broaden our product set over the course of the year,” Mr Vynokur said.
