Speaking to InvestorWeekly, a spokesperson for ANZ said Mr Suwanapruti will step into the Singapore-based role, replacing Tony Morriss.
ANZ also said Mr Suwanapruti will lead a global team of strategists to provide analysis, trade ideas and forecasts on fixed income and associated interest rate markets.
ANZ chief economist Warren Hogan said it is a “key strategic focus” for ANZ to build out of its Asian rates business.
“It’s pleasing to be able to appoint one of Asia’s top interest rate strategists to lead our global team out of Singapore,” Mr Hogan said.
