Mr Brown’s appointment follows his departure from the role of chief executive officer of Bennelong Funds Management in May 2014.
Wingate chief executive officer Farrel Meltzer said growth and increasing diversity has “driven the need” for an increased resource focused on its “fund raising efforts”.
Wingate said Mr Brown will be responsible for the firm's investor relations and will lead a coordinated capital funding strategy to support the firm’s “ongoing expansion”.
