Prior to that role, she was group secretary and general counsel at Westpac and a partner at law firm Mallesons Stephen Jaques.

ANZ chair David Gonski said he was delighted Ms Atlas was joining the ANZ board.

“Her background in financial services, human resources and the law will further strengthen the board,” said Mr Gonski.

Suncorp Group chairman Zygmunt Switkowski said Ms Atlas had made important contributions during her three and half years as a non-executive director on the Suncorp board.

“She has made a great contribution to the group’s development and to the board, most recently as chair of the Remuneration Committee and member of the Risk Committee,” he said.

“On behalf of Suncorp I’d like to thank Ms Atlas and wish her well in her future endeavours.”
