State Street has appointed Kevin Wong as head of sector solutions for the Asia Pacific region to lead the business development of State Street’s Asia Pacific businesses.

He replaces Chris Taylor, who was recently appointed to head State Street’s global services and global markets businesses in Australia.

Mr Wong will join the senior leadership team as one of State Street's three regional heads alongside Stefan Gmur, who serves as sector head for Europe, the Middle East and Africa, and
Scott Fitzgerald, sector head for the Americas.

He will mainly be responsible for delivering new revenue opportunities and building a strong pipeline of business for State Street’s core and growing markets across the Asia Pacific.

Mr Wong joins from Citibank where he was China country manager for the company’s securities and fund services business.

He has also held senior positions at Bank of New York Mellon, Deutsche Bank and Bankers Trust in Hong Kong, Singapore and Australia, gaining more than 19 years of experience in global custody, fund administration, securities lending and cash management across various Asian markets.

State Street's head of Asia Pacific global services and global markets businesses, Wai-Kwong Seck, said Mr Wong brings immense experience to the role, having held senior positions responsible for growing market share.

“Kevin will be a key member of our senior management team as we continue to focus on providing our clients with a range of solutions to meet their challenges,” said Mr Seck.
