Equity Trustees has appointed Catherine Elversson and Andrew Woods as estate planning solicitors.

Ms Elversson previously worked at National Australia Trustees within NAB Private Wealth and was responsible for providing legal advice to high net worth individuals and their families regarding personal and corporate succession.

She has practiced as a solicitor in the area of commercial law for over eight years, specialising in wills and estate planning and headed up the estate planning department of Matthews Folbigg Lawyers, a private practice in Parramatta.

Equity Trustees national manager of estate planning Anna Hacker said Ms Elversson’s broad experience across Victoria, Queensland and New South Wales make her “perfectly suited to Equity Trustees national estate planning solutions for external referrers”.

Mr Woods returns to Equity Trustees after leaving the company in 2001 to take a role managing the wills and estates section of a large Bermuda based law firm.

During his time at Equity Trustees up he worked initially as a trust officer and then a wills and estate specialist.

Ms Hacker said Mr Wood’s work in Bermuda involved “complicated wills and estate planning and administration for ultra-high net worth indication, involving multiple jurisdictions”.

“Catherine and Andrew will be tremendous assets to the local and interstate estate planning teams, which have experienced a surging demand for their services in recent times,” she said.
