IFM Investors has appointed Dan Vanden Boom as a director of Australian business development.

Mr Vanden Boom joins IFM Investors following a 15-year career at Morgan Stanley Investment Management.

He will report to IFM Investors executive director of business development Eddy Schipper, who relocated to Japan at the beginning of 2014 to "build IFM Investors' Asia offering to clients", according to a statement.

Mr Schipper said Mr Vanden Boom would add "significantly" to IFM Investors' "resources and expertise" in its business development team.

"His strong track record throughout his career will serve him well in engaging with our client base and assisting with building the business," said Mr Schipper.

“[Mr Vanden Boom] chose to work with us because he was attracted to our unique ownership structure and focus on long-term outcomes for clients, as well as the demonstrable strength of our investment teams and client base,” he said.

“His appointment then continues the trend of the very best people in our industry being motivated to join our team because of what makes IFM Investors genuinely unique and special,” said Mr Schipper.

Mr Vanden Boom will commence his new role in May and will be based in Melbourne.
