The Association of Superannuation Funds of Australia (ASFA) has made a number of changes to its board, including the appointment of TAL managing director Jim Minto as chair.

Mr Minto has been an ASFA director since 2009 and chair of the board policy committee since 2012.

“Mr Minto will bring a wealth of wisdom and experience to his new role as chair,” ASFA chief executive Pauline Vamos said. “We congratulate and wish him every success in his new role.”

His appointment follows the resignation of Tony Lally from the ASFA board in October, having served four years in the role.

ASFA has appointed REST superannuation chief executive Damian Hill to the board to fill the vacancy left by Mr Lally after a nomination by the board on October 25.

ASFA’s service provider member sector has also elected QIC chief of global clients Brian Delaney to the board, with the appointment taking effect after the company's 14 November AGM.

That meeting will also mark the retirement from the board of Superpartners chief executive Peter McNeil who had served since February this year.

“On behalf of ASFA and its members, I'd like to congratulate Damian Hill and Brian Delaney on their appointments, as well as Jim Minto, Michael Dwyer, Brad Holzberger, Nicolette Rubinsztein and Dean Thomas on their re-election by their peers this year,” Ms Vamos said.
