Maple-Brown Abbott (MBA) has appointed a new head of institutional and strategic relationships.

Christine Cameron, who previously held senior positions in institutional sales, service and consulting at both Russell Investments and MLC, will be responsible for the investment manager’s institutional business.

Garth Rossler, managing director at MBA, said the appointment “will further strengthen relationships with our existing clients and also enable us to address new market opportunities”.

“MBA has been running a strong Australian equity business for over 25 years and we successfully introduced Asian equities to our product offering 10 years ago. In addition, we launched a new investment strategy in February this year, Global Listed Infrastructure,” Mr Rossler said.

“This business, headed by Andrew Maple-Brown, was driven by our view of the attractive long-term investment characteristics of the asset class and its strong compatibility with our investment approach.

“Christine, as a member of the senior executive, will be responsible for building on these strong capabilities and driving the strategic direction of the institutional business, strengthening client advocacy and developing opportunities for the business in new segments and with offshore clients.”
