The firm has welcomed a former Colonial First State executive to the newly created role of group head of product.

Matt Warren has joined Zenith Investment Partners in the newly created role of group head of product.

He makes the move from Colonial First State, where he worked for five years, most recently as product director of managed accounts.

Previously, he served as senior product development manager at ANZ for over four and a half years.

His experience also includes various roles at Macquarie Group across product management, superannuation, and adviser servicing roles.

In the new role, Mr Warren will report to managing director Jason Huddy and will be based in Sydney.

Commenting on the appointment, Mr Huddy highlighted Mr Warren’s 15 years of experience in financial services which will complement Zenith’s product offerings including managed accounts, online broking, and investment and superannuation platforms.

“Our product and service offering to clients has expanded significantly over recent years. Matt is a highly experienced executive with a proven track record in managing diverse product offerings and ensuring that they remain relevant to clients,” he said.

“He has demonstrated success in end-to-end product management and development, including engagement with end users in developing funds management products, super and investment platform services and digital products.”

According to Mr Huddy, this experience will serve him well in aligning Zenith’s local product strategy with the global product roadmap of the parent company, FE fundinfo.

Last year, Zenith saw the departure of its long-standing chief executive, David Wright, who passed the baton to Mr Huddy.

Mr Wright, who jointly founded Zenith in 2002, has since transitioned into the new position of investment director and remains on the firm’s local board and executive team.

While noting that stepping down was not an easy decision to make, he said he believed that it was the right move for the business and noted it allowed him to spend more time working directly with Zenith’s clients and staff.

Additionally, Zenith announced a range of other appointments in 2023, including business development managers for Victoria and Tasmania as well as NSW and the ACT, along with a new head of sales.
