Monash Investors principal Simon Shields will join the line-up of speakers at the InvestorDaily 2016 Asset Strategy Forum, which will expose advisers to 18 unique strategies in just one day.

Mr Shields, who has 27 years’ experience in Australian funds management, established Monash Investors with former UBS and JP Morgan senior equity analyst Shane Fitzgerald in 2012.

The Monash Absolute Investment Fund provides investors with a high conviction, benchmark-unaware exposure to Australian equities with a capital preservation focus, said Mr Shields.

The fund has a target return of 12 to 15 per cent (net of fees) over the investment cycle.

“The fund provides investors with exposure to Australian shares and will complement a portfolio that has direct shares and long only positions,” Mr Shields said.

“It also is suitable for the growth component of a client’s portfolio where lower volatility is important.”

Mr Shields said he is looking forward to participating in the inaugural InvestorDaily Asset Strategy Forum.

“The Asset Strategy Forum is a great initiative and it’s exciting to be part of it,” he said. “A fast-paced event like this is a really innovative way to deliver investment content.”
